So, what is Be Part of It?

Be Part of It is a MotoKind network bringing together a deliberately mixed group of people who care about the future of motorcycling.

Riders. Businesses. Trainers. Researchers. People from across the industry and people who see things from a completely different angle.

Not to agree on everything. That would be boring.

Each month we’ll share something we’re hearing from riders, along with a question or two worth thinking about. You can add your perspective if you have one, or simply read it and carry on with your day.

When something needs a deeper conversation, we’ll bring a small mix of people together for a quarterly Round Table. Who’s in the room will change depending on the question we’re exploring.

We’ve already got around 20 people involved, bringing perspectives from riding, training, research, insurance, motorcycle businesses, media, technology, touring and more.

But this isn’t about collecting impressive names or giving people access to a useful contact list. It’s to have a wide mix of perspectives to draw on when the right questions emerge.

And not every voice we need to hear will be part of the network. If we’re talking about someone’s future, we’ll find ways to hear from them rather than deciding what we think they need.

And when something feels worth exploring further, we might actually try something.

Small experiments. The right people. See what happens. Learn from it.

Why are we doing it?

Because motorcycling has no shortage of clever people, good ideas and strong opinions.

But we often have the same conversations with the same people in the same circles.

Meanwhile, MotoKind spends a lot of time listening to riders, the questions they ask, the things they struggle with, what puts them off, what keeps coming up and the occasional little comment that turns out to point to something much bigger.

Be Part of It gives us somewhere to bring those things together.

We don’t need to have all the answers. Sometimes discovering we’ve been asking the wrong question is just as useful.

And sometimes something might emerge that we can actually do something about.

Less talking about change. More finding the things we can actually change.

Free. Independent. On purpose.

MotoKind is free for riders, and Be Part of It is free too.

Nobody pays for a seat at the table. Nobody gets a louder voice because of their job title, organisation or bank balance.

We want the freedom to follow what riders are actually telling us and involve whoever can add something useful.

Access and influence aren’t for sale.

A good mix matters more than a long guest list.

We’re starting with a small network and letting it develop as we learn what works.

We’re looking for a real mix of people. Different experiences, backgrounds, ages, parts of the industry and ways of looking at things.

You don’t need an impressive job title.

You do need to be curious, willing to listen, happy to question assumptions and comfortable being in a room where people won’t always agree with you.
