You know how to ride it. But do you really understand it?
Know Your Bike is for riders who can ride their motorcycle but don’t always understand what they’re looking at, what they should be checking or what it all means.
A relaxed, small-group workshop designed to make your motorcycle a little less confusing.
No mechanical knowledge needed. No tools. No questions you’re expected to know already.
Does any of this sound familiar?
- You can ride your bike, but couldn’t confidently name everything you’re looking at.
- You’re not always sure what you should be checking — or what you’re checking for.
- Terms like chain slack, coolant, tyre wear or brake fluid sometimes leave you wondering what they actually mean.
- You’ve wanted to ask something about your bike but felt it was something you should already know.
If so, Know Your Bike was created for you.
What you’ll come away understanding
This isn’t about turning you into a mechanic. It’s to help make the motorcycle you ride feel more familiar.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a better understanding of:
- the main parts of a motorcycle and what they do
- the everyday checks riders should know about
- what you’re actually looking for when you carry out those checks
- some of the signs that something might need attention
- what you can check yourself and when it’s sensible to ask for help
The aim is simple: to help you look at your motorcycle and understand more of what you’re seeing.
What will the workshop be like?
Relaxed, small and deliberately non-intimidating.
We’ll use a demonstration motorcycle to explore the main parts of the bike, everyday checks and some of the things worth keeping an eye on. Everything is explained in straightforward language, with plenty of opportunity to ask questions as we go.
You’ll also receive your own Know Your Bike workbook to make notes in and keep afterwards, so you’ve got something useful to refer back to when you’re looking after your own motorcycle.
There are no exams, no practical assessments and no expectation that you’ll arrive knowing anything about motorcycle mechanics.

Our first workshop sold out
Our first Know Your Bike workshop took place in Ipswich in August 2026, with all eight places filled.
It gave us the chance to test the format with a small group of riders, hear their questions and learn what would make future sessions even more useful.
We’ve taken the feedback on board and future workshops will be a little longer, with more time built in for everyone to get hands-on around the motorcycles.
What Know Your Bike isn’t
Know Your Bike isn’t rider training and it isn’t a mechanics course. We won’t teach you to ride, service or repair your motorcycle.
It’s about understanding the motorcycle you already ride: what you’re looking at, what to keep an eye on and when something deserves further attention.

Think this sounds like you?
You don’t need to wait until you know more about motorcycles. That’s rather the point.
For Riders. For Good.
